Dear Parents,

Thank you for your interest in Hudson Lab School! We’re so excited to be part of a paradigm shift in education where students are engaged in deep and meaningful learning. In recent years, there has been an explosion of knowledge about how children grow and develop into whole individuals, and an expanding consensus that they are often ill-served by the factory model for K-12 instruction.

The interdisciplinary, experiential learning at Hudson Lab School focuses on whole child development and the integration and interconnectivity of affective, cognitive, social and emotional processes. Our students learn to trust their own judgment and value the unique, individual strengths that they have to offer to the world. At Hudson Lab School, we have created a healthy, warm, safe, and nurturing environment where individuality is cherished and encouraged, where community is paramount, and where children develop a joy of learning. We have dropped traditions, invested in the science of learning, and amped up the common sense and best practices for learning both the core skills of reading, writing and arithmetic and the practical life skills of self-agency, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving. The best part is we’re having a great time doing it!

Once you have submitted your application, we will contact you to schedule a student visit and parent interview. Entering kindergarteners and 1st graders will be invited to join one of three informal open play sessions led by Hudson Lab School teachers in October, November or December. During this time, parents will meet with our School Director or Founder. For entering 2nd-8th graders, students will be invited to spend 1-1.5 hours in the classroom during the school day while parents meet with our School Director or Founder.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at or (914) 775-7058. We thank you for your interest in Hudson Lab School and hope that you and your family will join us for fun, engaging and empowering learning!
