How to Apply
Thank you for your interest in Hudson Lab School. We'd love to have you join us for a tour, meet our students and faculty, explore our classrooms and grounds, and experience joyful learning. For the 2019-2020 school year, we welcome applications for all grade levels from Kindergarten through Grade 7. Our admissions process opens September 3 with an application deadline of December 6.
The goal of our application process is to get to know our applicants and their families in as many ways as we can. We look forward to meeting you!

2. Submit your application
Applications will become available on September 3. Please email your completed application for the 2019-2020 school year along with the application fee of $30.
Our birthdate cut-off for entering Kindergarteners is November 1. However, we pay close attention to each child's development and we are happy to discuss your child's placement at the time of the student visit. We encourage open and honest dialogue between prospective families and our admissions team.
Sibling applicants are given special consideration during the admissions process, however, admission is not automatic or guaranteed.
3. Visit us
Once your application has been received, you will be invited to attend one of our required Parent Tours and someone from our admissions team will contact you to schedule your child's visit to the school. During your child’s visit, parents will have a short interview with our School Director.
K-1st grade: Children will join an informal open play session led by Hudson Lab School teachers. During this time, parents will meet with our School Director for a 10-15 minute chat.
2nd-7th grade: Students will spend 1-2 hours in the classroom during the school day while parents have an opportunity to meet with our School Director.
We value getting to know parents during the application process since families are an important part of our school community. We encourage both parents (if applicable) to come to the interview. At the interview, we will get to know your family, discuss what you are looking for in a school, and answer any questions you may have about the admissions process.
4. Submit our School Report form to your child’s current school. The School Report form must be submitted by January 10, 2020.
